This is Dad.

He is a big rat.

Zac's dad looks down at Zac and places his arm on Zac's back.

Dad and I want to camp. Dad gets the packs. I get snacks.

Dad says, "We will go up. We will go down. We will pass the stack of trash. There is the camp."

Zac's dad points to their campsite on the map.

Page 7

"Let's go!" I say.

Zac eagerly waits by the door while his dad studies the map.

Page 13

I will not get there. I will not get to the camp.

Dad says, "Do not be sad. I can help you."

Zac sits down and his dad puts a bandaid on his foot.

Page 14

Dad looks at all the trash. He has a plan.

Dad says, "I will be back."

Zac's dad notices a pair of shoes while Zac looks at his bandage.

The shoes help. I will get to the camp.

Page 19

Here is our camp at last. Look! There is a lake. I like this place.

Zac and his dad stop to look at the lake.

Page 20

Dad says, "Let's make the tent. Take this. Do it like me."

Zac's dad ties a rope to a tree and hands the other end to Zac.

Page 21

I do it like Dad.

Zac stands on a rock to tie the rope high on the tree.

Page 22

Dad says, "Take this. Do it like me."

Zac's dad holds tent stakes and a hammer while ants crawl across his backpack.

Page 24

Dad says, "This will go on top. Can you help?"

"I can help," I say.

I like to help my dad.

Zac and his dad hang a tarp over the rope to make a tent.

Page 25

We did it! We made a tent.

Dad says, "Come into the tent. You will like it."

Zac's dad invites him to sit inside the tent.

Page 26

The End

The words - The End - appear in the sky as ants carry food away in a line.
