King Midas was very greedy. Gold was more important to him than his own family. Midas smiles next to a huge box of coins. A girl in the background looks sad.
King Midas met a genie.

"You may have one wish," said the genie.

What do you think King Midas wished for?
The genie appears in a puff of smoke. He holds up one finger in front of King Midas.
King Midas wished that everything he touched would turn into gold! His wish came true. King Midas touches a bird cage. The cage, and the bird inside, turn to gold.
King Midas became very rich, but he was not happy. He couldn't smell the gold flowers from his garden. He couldn't eat gold food! King Midas tries to eat, but all his food turns to gold as he grabs it!
King Midas's daughter was very sad. He gave her a hug and she turned into gold. King Midas begins to cry after he hugs his daughter.
King Midas asked the genie, "Please take back my wish! My daughter is worth more than gold!"

The genie said, "I will."
The genie waves his wand, and disappears. Everything returns to normal!
Now King Midas was very happy. He had learned that LOVE, not gold, REALLY makes a person rich!
